Romantic Florida vacation spots are snuggled around the Sunshine State, and in some of the most unanticipated spots. Of course there are the time-honored beach sunrises and sunsets (very romantic if the beach is deserted), you might wish to consider some more unusual spots. The kind that will make your sweetheart swoon and think you are the most romantic person there ever was.
Think about some night lights. I am not talking about the major cities now. I’m talking about the night sky here, and sipping champagne while looking at its brilliance. And here’s a distinctive way to do this; rent a boat in the Florida Keys or Flamingo and put out to sea (so to speak) in Florida Bay. The water is peaceful and you can drift away from the bright lights and look up at the night sky. Remember to bring romantic music!
Lover’s Key; it’s more than just a name! It’s an island on the SW Florida Gulf coast. The island was originally named such since one couldn’t get there from the mainland without a boat. Thus, it was an, ahem, out-of-the-way site. Now a road connects Lover’s Key to the mainland, but it’s still a romantic getaway. Why not take a sunset cruise into the Gulf and take pleasure in the sun’s rays lingering on the horizon while you get a chance to see natural Florida. Or possibly you’d favor the morning dolphin tour and shelling expedition?
Maybe a romantic Florida marriage ceremony is in your future? You’re maybe thinking one of the Florida Keys, right? There’s something quite remarkable to think about. It’s a South Seas wedding at Disney’s Polynesian resort. I know, Disney is a favorite of honeymooners, but you don’t usually think of it as being romantic. For an extraordinary wedding experience, think Cinderella’s Castle. In this fairy-tale setting, fireworks go off at your wedding kiss.
Daytona Beach has some fascinating places for romance; one is The Shores Resort and Spa, where there are quite a few couples-only packages. Take pleasure in champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, a moonlit beach ramble, breakfast in bed and spa treatments as well.
There are bed and breakfasts located all around the Sunshine State and many have exclusive packages planned for a amorous holiday. One little-known tryst spot is called Turtle Beach Inn. It’s appropriately placed on Florida’s “Forgotten Coast” — the area of Gulf coast from the Big Bend on the east to around Apalachicola on the west. It’s small, cozy and private, with miles of unspoiled beaches.
Have you considered a resort on its own small island? Little Palm Island in the Florida Lower Keys is indeed on its own island, with just 30 suites (28 of which are in thatch-roof bungalows). Little Palm has a 5-day romance package that should make anyone melt, what with champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, a steaming bath with rose petals…you get the idea.
We’re known as the Sunshine State and sometimes the Tourist State, but we should also be known for our wonderfully romantic Florida vacations.
Enjoy a romantic Florida Keys vacation!
